Sleeping too little or too much might shorten your life

Getting an adequate amount of sleep has always been associated with feeling good, but there is mounting evidence that sleeping too little or too much can increase your risk of dying. In recent studies, experts have found that people who slept five hours or less a night had a higher risk of heart disease, stroke and cancer. They also noticed that the people who slept more than nine hours a night had increased mortality. While the reasons for this phenomena are not entirely clear, it appears that sleeping between seven and eight hours a night is the ideal.
